Urinetown - The Musical

Urinetown - The Musical is a satirical comedy that takes a critical look at corporate greed, social injustice, and the legal system. This production at Signature Theatre is a chance to see a show known for its sharp wit and unconventional premise, often compared to Brechtian theater with its self-aware commentary. The music, by Mark Hollmann, blends various styles from gospel to Broadway standards, offering a dynamic and often humorous score. This matinee performance on Saturday, July 31, 2027, is at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. Signature is known for its intimate spaces and strong musical theater programming, making it a good fit for Urinetown's ensemble-driven nature. It's a show that appeals to those who enjoy musicals with a bit more bite and something to say, along with clever staging and strong vocal performances.
