Urban Nutcracker

Urban Nutcracker brings its distinct take on the holiday classic to Boston. This production blends Tchaikovsky’s score with new arrangements, often incorporating jazz, hip-hop, and other contemporary styles. It’s a retelling that keeps the story’s spirit while adding a local flavor and modern dance elements. The show is at the Shubert Theatre Boston on Friday, December 18, 2026. This is a good fit for people looking for a fresh perspective on the Nutcracker ballet, or anyone interested in dance that bridges traditional and modern forms. The Shubert offers a classic theater setting for the performance.
