    About

TAO Dance Theater returns to the Joyce, bringing their distinct contemporary dance style to New York. This company, led by choreographer Tao Ye, is recognized for its minimalist aesthetic and rigorous, repetitive movement sequences, often exploring the human body's form and endurance. Their work typically features a stripped-down stage and focuses intensely on the dancers' collective motion. This engagement at the Joyce Theater in New York on Friday, December 11, 2026, offers a chance to see one of the most innovative dance companies working today. The Joyce is an intimate venue well-suited for appreciating the subtle details and powerful physicality of TAO's performances, appealing to those who appreciate experimental and visually striking modern dance.
