Something Rotten

Something Rotten is a musical comedy set in the 1590s, following two brothers, Nick and Nigel Bottom, who are struggling playwrights living in the shadow of William Shakespeare. Desperate for a hit, they consult a soothsayer who predicts the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and elaborate costumes – leading them to invent the very first musical. This production at the Stratford Festival Theatre brings a fresh take on the Tony-nominated show, known for its clever anachronisms and witty humor. This Wednesday matinee performance of Something Rotten on October 28, 2026, offers a chance to see the Stratford Festival Theatre's take on this Broadway hit. The venue is known for its grand scale and quality theatrical productions, making it a fitting setting for a show that satirizes and celebrates musical theatre. It's a good pick for anyone who appreciates smart comedy, historical parody, and a lively stage show.
