San Francisco Symphony - Hisaishi Conducts Hisaishi

Hisaishi Conducts Hisaishi brings the celebrated composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi to lead the San Francisco Symphony. This program features Hisaishi conducting his own orchestral works, including selections from his film scores and his symphonic compositions. It’s a chance to hear the music of Studio Ghibli and his other projects performed live under his directorship. This concert takes place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. The hall’s acoustics are well-suited for this kind of orchestral performance, offering a full sound for Hisaishi’s layered arrangements. It will appeal to fans of film scores, contemporary classical music, and those familiar with his work.
