Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra - Jeff Beal Scores Metropolis

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra joins forces with Emmy-winning composer Jeff Beal for a unique performance of his original score to Fritz Lang's 1927 silent film masterpiece, Metropolis. This isn't just a live soundtrack; Beal conducts his own dynamic, modern composition, bringing a fresh, cinematic intensity to one of cinema's most influential works. It's an opportunity to hear a contemporary classical voice engage directly with a foundational piece of film history. This special evening takes place on Friday, March 5, 2027, at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester. The grand setting of the Eastman Theatre is well-suited for both the scale of the RPO and the epic scope of Metropolis, offering an immersive experience for fans of both orchestral music and classic cinema.
