Rent the Musical

Rent the Musical is coming to San Francisco, offering a fresh take on the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning rock opera. This production brings Jonathan Larson's story of struggling artists and friends in New York City's East Village to the stage. Known for its powerful songs and themes of love, loss, and community, Rent remains a significant piece of modern musical theater. This run of Rent the Musical plays on Wednesday, January 20, 2027, at the San Francisco Playhouse. The Playhouse is an intimate setting, making for a close-up experience with the cast and music. It's a good fit for theatergoers who appreciate contemporary musicals with a strong narrative and a rock-infused score.
