Professional Stage Reading - Trouble In Mind

The Spokane Civic Theatre presents a professional stage reading of Alice Childress's Trouble In Mind. This play, first written in the 1950s, offers a sharp look at race, identity, and the compromises artists face in the American theater industry. Childress's work has seen a resurgence of interest lately, and this reading provides a chance to engage with a classic text in a focused format. This reading takes place on Sunday, April 18, 2027, at 2 PM on the Margot & Robert Ogden Main Stage in Spokane. Stage readings often provide a more intimate way to experience a play, allowing the audience to concentrate on the script and performances without elaborate sets or costumes. It's a good option for those who appreciate thought-provoking drama and a deeper dive into theatrical history.
