About Opera Philadelphia - Let Em Eat Cake at Kimmel Center - Academy of Music

Opera Philadelphia’s production of Let 'Em Eat Cake brings a fresh take to the rarely performed Gershwin musical. This staging blends the original satirical Broadway comedy with a rock music sensibility, featuring the band Let Them Eat Cake performing alongside the opera company. It's an interesting crossover that puts a new lens on a classic American work. This performance is at the Kimmel Center's Academy of Music on Friday, January 29, 2027. The Academy is a grand, historic space fitting for opera, and this show offers something for both traditional opera fans and those curious about how rock music can integrate with a theatrical production.
