National Ballet of Canada - Emergence / Silent Screen

The National Ballet of Canada presents a double bill featuring Crystal Pite's acclaimed "Emergence" and a new work, "Silent Screen," choreographed by Jessica Lang. Pite's "Emergence" is known for its insect-inspired, intricate group choreography, a powerful contemporary ballet exploring themes of community and instinct. Lang's "Silent Screen" offers a contrasting narrative, drawing on the aesthetics and storytelling of early cinema, making this an evening of diverse choreographic voices. This performance takes place on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. The Four Seasons Centre is a modern opera house known for its excellent acoustics and sightlines, providing an ideal setting for large-scale ballet productions. It's a good fit for those interested in both established contemporary ballet and new choreographic developments.
