    About

Mainstage Theatre in Jonesboro presents "Men on Boats," Jaclyn Backhaus's acclaimed historical comedy. This play reimagines the 1869 expedition of John Wesley Powell and his crew down the Colorado River. Known for its witty dialogue and unconventional casting – the ten male roles are traditionally played by an all-female or gender non-conforming cast – it offers a fresh, humorous take on adventure and exploration narratives. This production runs on Saturday, April 24, 2027, at 7:30 PM at the Mainstage Theatre in Jonesboro, AR. It's an intimate setting for live theater, suitable for anyone interested in contemporary American plays, historical satire, or a clever, thought-provoking evening out.
