Matthew Bourne's Cinderella

Matthew Bourne's Cinderella returns to Sadlers Wells, offering a distinctive, darker take on the classic fairy tale. Known for his narrative ballets that blend contemporary dance with theatrical storytelling, Bourne shifts the setting to London during the Blitz. This production reimagines the familiar story with a cinematic score, focusing on the emotional landscape of wartime romance and loss rather than traditional magic. This particular run at Sadlers Wells Theatre in London on Wednesday, December 30, 2026, presents a chance to see one of Bourne's most acclaimed works in its spiritual home. The venue is well-suited for large-scale theatrical dance, and this show generally appeals to those who appreciate innovative ballet, dramatic narratives, and a fresh perspective on well-known stories.
