Hadestown

Hadestown is a musical that reworks the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, setting it in a Depression-era industrial landscape. The show blends folk and jazz influences, telling a story of love, doubt, and the challenges of creating a better world. It’s a contemporary take on classic themes, with a score that’s received a lot of attention since its Broadway debut. This Saturday matinee performance of Hadestown at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York, NY offers an opportunity to see the production in its long-running home. The Walter Kerr is a classic Broadway house, suitable for a musical with this kind of theatrical staging. It generally appeals to those who enjoy narrative-driven musicals and a mix of musical styles.
