    About Downstate at Booth Theatre

The Booth Theatre presents Downstate, a compelling play by Pulitzer Prize winner Bruce Norris. This production delves into complex themes around disability, sexuality, and the justice system, offering a provocative look at the lives of four men convicted of sex crimes living together in a supervised group home. Norris is known for his sharp dialogue and challenging narratives, and Downstate continues that tradition with a story that prompts significant discussion. This limited engagement run of Downstate opens at the historic Booth Theatre in New York City on Saturday, January 2, 2027. Audiences who appreciate thought-provoking contemporary drama and plays that tackle difficult social questions with nuance and intensity will find this production particularly engaging.
