Downstate

The Booth Theatre presents Downstate, a thought-provoking play that explores complex themes of rehabilitation and societal views on difficult subjects. Written by Bruce Norris, known for works like "Clybourne Park," this production brings its challenging narrative to Broadway after critical runs elsewhere. Expect an incisive look at human nature and the justice system, delivered with sharp dialogue and nuanced performances. This New York engagement of Downstate runs on Tuesday, December 8, 2026, at the Booth Theatre. The intimate setting of this historic Broadway house is well-suited for a drama that relies on strong character development and intricate moral dilemmas. This show will appeal to theatergoers who appreciate contemporary plays that spark discussion and offer a deeper examination of social issues.
