This performance blends Moran's distinct contemporary jazz style, often drawing from blues and avant-garde influences, with the DSO's classical power. It's a rare opportunity to hear a creative intersection of these genres, showcasing Moran's innovative approach to composition and improvisation within an orchestral setting. This concert, Jason Moran and The Bandwagon, takes place on Friday, May 28, 2027, at Orchestra Hall within the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit. The venue offers a refined setting for both classical and cross-genre performances, appealing to those who appreciate sophisticated musical fusions and orchestral collaborations.
