Clyde's

Clyde's, a new play by two-time Pulitzer winner Lynn Nottage, centers on the formerly incarcerated kitchen staff of a truck stop sandwich shop. They're all trying to restart their lives, and the quest for the perfect sandwich becomes a path to redemption, or at least a distraction from their pasts. Nottage's plays often explore themes of identity, class, and resilience, and Clyde's continues that tradition with a blend of humor and poignant observation. This run of Clyde's at The Jenny Boyd Theatre in Knoxville offers a chance to see a contemporary work that's been gaining significant traction. It's a good fit for anyone who appreciates character-driven stories, sharp dialogue, and plays that offer both entertainment and something to consider afterwards.
