Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Glover, Chen & the CSO

This CSO program, Glover, Chen & the CSO, features conductor Roderick Cox leading the orchestra through a varied classical repertoire. Violinist Ray Chen joins for a performance of Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1, a piece known for its melodic lyricism. The concert also includes works by Valerie Coleman and the orchestra's own Principal Conductor, Bernard Rands. This Friday afternoon matinee takes place at Chicago Symphony Center. It's a chance to hear a well-regarded soloist with the CSO in a program that balances familiar classical works with contemporary pieces, appealing to both seasoned classical music attendees and those looking to explore a broader range of orchestral music.
