    About

August Wilson's Seven Guitars is a powerful entry in his American Century Cycle, set in 1948 Pittsburgh. This production brings the story of Floyd "Schoolboy" Barton and his band to life as they chase a dream of musical success against a backdrop of everyday struggles, love, and community. Wilson's signature dialogue and deep character studies explore themes of race, economic hardship, and the pursuit of dignity. This showing at Lincoln Center Theater on Tuesday, November 10, offers a chance to see a classic American drama in a respected theatrical setting. It's a play that resonates with anyone interested in character-driven narratives, American history, or the enduring power of human spirit.
