A Tribute to Zakir Hussain featuring Niladri Kumaar

A Tribute to Zakir Hussain will feature Niladri Kumaar, a prominent sitar player known for his innovative approach to classical Indian music. Kumaar often blends traditional ragas with contemporary sounds, and this performance is a chance to hear his interpretations within the context of a tribute to a master percussionist like Zakir Hussain. It suggests a focus on intricate rhythms and melodic improvisation. This concert takes place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Southern Theatre in Columbus, OH. The Southern Theatre is a historic venue, often lending itself to seated, appreciative audiences for world music and classical performances. This show should appeal to those interested in Indian classical music, global fusions, and instrumental virtuosity.
