2026 Bands of America Grand National Championships - Thursday Prelims

The Bands of America Grand National Championships kick off with the Thursday Prelims, featuring high school marching bands from across the country. This initial day focuses on precision, musicality, and visual design as groups compete for a spot in the later rounds. It's a chance to see a wide range of interpretations and styles in marching band performance early in the competition. This event takes place on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The large stadium setting allows for the full scale of these performances to be appreciated, with bands often incorporating elaborate field formations and props. Fans of competitive music and intricate live performance will find plenty to engage with throughout the day.
