The annual FNL Reindeer Run brings the community together to participate in a festive 5k run/walk to celebrate the winter season and raise money for student scholarships! 

The SLO County Friday Night Live Reindeer Run is a 5k fun run that promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles among youth and families in San Luis Obispo County. The 5k route begins at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo and follows the Railroad Trail to Orcutt Road, returning to Mitchell Park via Broad and Santa Barbara Streets. The majority of the course is on the trail or sidewalks, and will have volunteers cheering participants on along the way. Participants, volunteers, and spectators are encouraged to dress in their favorite holiday attire and kick off the winter season! 

Free Bike Valet services provided by Bike SLO County for those who ride bicycles to the event!

Day of registration will be available - please note the registration fees increase by $5 for day of registration! Children under the age of 5 are free. All paid registrations receive a commemorative Reindeer Run t-shirt and a ticket for breakfast following the run.

The Reindeer Run will follow all public health guidelines as applicable.

About Friday Night Live:

All proceeds from the Reindeer Run benefit San Luis Obispo County Friday Night Live (FNL). Friday Night Live builds partnerships for positive and healthy youth development, which engage youth as active leaders and resources in their communities.

All programs are youth-led and youth-driven and provide support and opportunities for young people to build skills, knowledge, and attitudes that promote future success. San Luis Obispo County Friday Night Live fosters an inclusive space for young people to build relationships and use their voices for change.

Friday Night Live partnered with Cal Poly’s Experience and Event Management students to add new activities to this year’s Reindeer Run 5K. In addition to the run, participants will have access to a "Recovery Station" before and after the race, featuring yoga mats, massage balls, hydration, and other recovery resources to help participants prepare and recharge. The event will also include Santa’s Workshop and a Pup Stop for participants bringing their dogs, with treats, goodies, and festive activities for pets. Whether you’re running, walking, or bringing your pup along for the fun, come spend the day getting active, enjoying the holiday spirit, and celebrating with the SLO community!
