Ouros with Danny Knicely brings together musical traditions from Appalachia, Latin America and beyond for an evening of acoustic music, harmony and improvisation.

Ouros is a bilingual ensemble performing in Spanish and English, with influences spanning flamenco, bluegrass, jazz, Latin music and traditional American music. Rather than simply placing those traditions side by side, the group brings them together through rich vocal harmony, infectious rhythms and accomplished acoustic playing.

Joining that musical conversation is Virginia multi-instrumentalist Danny Knicely, whose roots run deep in the old-time and bluegrass traditions of the Shenandoah Valley. Mandolin, guitar, voice, rhythm and improvisation become points of connection between musical traditions that may have developed thousands of miles apart.

The result is music that feels both familiar and unexpected, treating tradition not as something fixed in place, but as something that continues to move whenever musicians listen and respond to one another.
