Injera 101 - Eritrean & Ethiopian Bread

The class will cover the preparation of Injera, a staple bread of Eritrea and Ethiopia. Participants will enjoy an appetizer and watch Alganesh make the batter from scratch, then take turns cooking their injera. Class will end with gathering together for a traditional dinner, savoring delicious food with their hands while learning proper Eritrean dining etiquette.

About the instructor:

Alganesh Michael is the James Beard Award-nominated chef-owner of A Taste of Abyssinia in South Burlington. She runs a catering business and serves weekly meals at The Mill Market in addition to running popup events and participating in festivals in Chittenden County. She has a a deep passion for cooking and teaching others about her culture and traditions through the culinary arts.
