Buddy Jewell:  The Demo & the Demo Singer

Buddy Jewell won national recognition when he was awarded a Sony recording contract for winning Season 1 of Nashville Star.  Before that, he gained the respect of the Nashville community as a demo singer.  He’ll discuss the importance of choosing the right musicians, demo singer, and studio etiquette.

David Lee:  From the Barrooms to the Writing Rooms

David Lee chose to leave the honky tonk stages in 1993 to focus on Songwriting, so he moved to Nashville to learn from the best.  He signed his first publishing deal in 1996. Soon, he had a Top 10 hit with Leann Womack’s “Now You See Me Now You Don’t.”  However, the real success came in 2003 when he signed with BMG Music Publishing, where he co-wrote his first number-one hit, “19 Something” for Mark Wills, followed by “Letters From Home” by  John Michael Montgomery.  Lee’s seminar will discuss the decision to leave the barrooms of Texas for the writing rooms of Tennessee.
