Burlington Civic Symphony Concert

Burlington Civic Symphony fall concert, Saturday, November 7 at 7pm, at the McCarthy Arts Center on the Saint Michael's College campus. The program includes music by Edvard Grieg, Max Bruch, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Please join the Burlington Civic Symphony as we move from autumn to stick season at our fall concert on Saturday, November 7, at the McCarthy Arts Center in Colchester, Vermont. Music Director Kim Diehnelt will lead the BCSO through the joy of fall into the darker days of November with a dramatic and emotional program:

You can hear leaves falling and dancing in Edvard Grieg’s Im Herbst ("In Autumn").

Max Bruch’s Romanze for Viola and Orchestra with soloist Sean Brekke could be re-interpreted as an ode to the bygone warmth and light of the season.

And Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 is a temperamental ride in e minor – melodic but at times almost furious, it may well evoke a fight against the dying of the autumn light.

The concert is co-sponsored by the Saint Michael's College Performing Arts Program and supported in part by a grant from the Vermont Arts Council.
