Andrew Cotto | Cucina Tipica and Cucina Romana

Phoenix Books is delighted to partner with our friends at the Vermont Italian Cultural Association (VICA) in hosting a virtual conversation with award-winning author Andrew Cotto! Join us in a celebration of Italian culture through the lens of Cotto’s novels featuring Jacoby Pines, an American expat living in Tuscany. 

Andrew Cotto is an award-winning novelist and accomplished journalist. He has written extensively for The New York Times, Men's Journal, Parade, Rachael Ray In Season, the Good Men Project, La Cucina Italiana, Italian America magazine, Brooklyn Magazine and more. Andrew is the Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Appetito magazine, a digital publication dedicated to Italian cuisine and culture. He is the recipient of the 2025 Giambelli Culinary Award from the Italian Language Foundation. Andrew lives in Brooklyn, NY.

About the books: In Cucina Tipica, escaping to Italy was the easy part. Figuring out how to stay forever is where the adventure begins. When disheartened American Jacoby Pines arrives in Italy on vacation, he has no idea that a family photograph from the previous century would start a search for ancestry through the streets of Florence and the hills of Tuscany. Jacoby’s Italian adventures continue in Cucina Romana.
