That's Take the Mic. Once a month at Mistura in San Luis Obispo, hand-curated by Angela Kristine — vocal coach and creator of The Living Instrument™ framework — an intimate evening of up to four vocalists: rising talent and locally beloved singers, ready to share their voices fully.

This isn't a competition. It's not karaoke. It's a curated set — real singers performing real songs they've worked for weeks to make theirs. You're watching growth happen live.

As emcee, Angela Kristine brings twenty years of expertise and the warmth of someone who's helped hundreds of people find their audible power. The result feels personal, not polished — alive, not performative.

Held at Mistura in The Creamery, the evening pairs live music with a family-style dinner created exclusively for the occasion by Chef Nicola Allegretta. Chef Nicola's vision — connecting people through great food in a memorable space — meets Angela's belief that the human voice is the most intimate instrument there is.

Your ticket includes Reserved seating for the showcase and Chef Nicola's family-style dinner. Come ready to eat well, listen closely, and leave with something you didn't expect. Drinks are additional.
