Introduction to Gourd Craft
General Admission = $50
The Southern Indiana Folk School @ The Jefferson County History & Art Center (615 W. 1st Street, Madison, IN 47250)

Few materials combine beauty and functionality as well as gourds. Gourds are strong and come in appealing and useful shapes.
Join us and make two beautiful and useful gourd objects. Local gourd artist TeriLu Adler will be your teacher.
You will make a useful and traditional gourd water dipper as well as a colorful gourd bowl with a coiled top—that will allow you to explore your creative side. This class will introduce you to gourds, concentrating on all the preparation work needed to make a gourd ready for crafting or daily use. The best tools for cleaning, cutting, and sanding will be taught.
All supplies provided. This class will be held outside. Students might get a little wet and dusty so dress accordingly. N-95 masks and gloves will be provided. The fine dust and mold make wearing masks necessary for all cleaning operations.
Please register by October 19th. Limited spots available!
Recommended for individuals 14 years or older.
