Bob Wegner - One Man Show

Bob Wegner is returning to Toronto for his first theatre solo show in nearly two years. His shows are never quite the same thing twice, but a musically adventurous evening is a guarantee.

Bob specializes in 1960s and 1970s rock and prog, but also touches on other periods and genres from Baroque to Buena Vista Social Club and Romantic to Radiohead. Typically he plays acoustic guitar and layers parts live with a simple looper pedal, ranging from favourites that everyone knows to obscurities that everyone ought to know. Plus he does a few of his own compositions as well. It's always a very mixed bag, and a whole lot of fun.

Doors are at 7pm. Show begins at 7:30.

About the artist:

Bob Wegner is a multi-instrumentalist, historian, writer, editor, archival researcher and radio show host. Highlights of his musical career include being selected by Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor to play guitar in multiple incarnations of the “We Will Rock You” musical. Bob’s coffee table book and comprehensive history of the legendary rock outfit Max Webster called “High Class” was endorsed by the band’s frontman Kim Mitchell, reviewed by many of Canada’s biggest media outlets, and is now available in its expanded second edition after selling out the first pressing. His radio show on Montco Radio in Pennsylvania called “Bollocks with Bob” reached thousands of listeners, and he is credited in no less than a dozen books, publications and productions. He has played hundreds of solo acoustic guitar shows where he performs complete albums by artists like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Yes, usually accompanied by hilarious and embarrassing stories. Bob resides in Montréal, Québec.
