Sacramento Valley Conservancy ~ Open space for all of us Our mission is to preserve the beauty, character and diversity of the Sacramento Valley landscape The Sacramento Valley Conservancy was founded on two basic principles
• Open lands are necessary for quality of life
• We must care for the land today so future generation may enjoy its physical and spiritual benefits tomorrow
Community provides us with both a mirror to reflect back where we are in our life and a system of support that allows for cooperative and collaborative growth. In order to encourage this open heart form of participation we must feel and facilitate inclusiveness. Please support this vision by unconditionally giving your authentic self in a way that protects innocence and promotes creative play and expression. We aspire to serve the local community and economy by:
• Being conscious of local laws and our social responsibilities
• Supporting local artisans, musicians, business and educators
• Creating family oriented spaces and children’s offerings
• Offering work trade/volunteer positions
• Providing scholarships for low income persons
• Contributing to non-profit organizations
Nature, Ecology & Conservation
Our environment, whether globally or communally, at our home or in our body, is in symbiotic relationship with us. As we tend to realign in natural surroundings, our environments are cultivated with a deep respect for nature and a keen awareness of the effect that aesthetic, sound, and containment have on participants. Our intention is to provide a setting to celebrate our connection with Mother Earth in an outdoor environment with access to camping, moving water, fire ceremony, and ecstatic music under the rising and setting of the sun. Please participate in leaving the environment better than you found it and support our pack-in/pack-out, leave no trace, and end single use policies. We will honor and respect our local and global ecosystem, and make efforts to minimize our impact by:
• Supporting Camp Pollock and the Sacramento Nature Conservancy
• Using long-lasting fabric wristbands
• Working with our food vendors to create a reusable plate exchange
• Utilizing solar power to support 100% of our main stage sound, light, and aesthetic
• Offering workshops and education in environmental consciousness and ecological sustainability
• Providing filtered water and contributing to ending single use water bottles
• Supporting a pack-in/pack-out, leave no trace policy
• Up-cycling art
• Recycling and composting waste
• Offering nature based education and camping
• Charging a carbon offsetting fee to all 4+ wheeled vehicles with less than three passengers
• Donating a free bike valet throughout the weekend
Health, Consciousness, and Well Being
On the path to wholeness, both in oneself and as part of the whole, there is much room for acceptance and forgiveness as we learn to evolve with change. Our teachers, healers, and educators will utilize this time of sacred ceremony and intention to facilitate personal and community growth and healing. Please make use of these offerings in any way that contributes to your being uplifted. We will support this potent expanded awareness and awakened consciousness by:
• Offering classes and workshops in yoga, kundalini, and meditation
• Providing discussions and presentations on self care, spiritual practice, holistic medicine, and whole food
• Facilitating the services of energy workers, massage therapists and practitioners of other holistic body work and modalities
• Offering filtered water and healthy food provided by vegetarian vendors that are committed to locally produced, GMO free food whenever possible
• Creating a safe container that supports personal and group healing and ceremony
Art, Music, & Creative Expression
Being Divine in nature, we are instinctually creative and profoundly expressive. Our community is committed to constructing an environment that encourages full immersion in the artistic process and offering all participants a platform to contribute their unique gifts. Please co-create with us by sharing your innovative ideas and extraordinary special talents. We will encourage sincere and heartfelt expression by:
• Supporting local artists and conscious artwork
• Facilitating live art installations to allow participants to witness the creative process
• Providing creative spaces and outlets for children and adults
• Building structures and installations that provoke imagination and inspiration
• Offering live and electronic music as well as devotional chanting & kirtan
