Sideways Fest is a 3-day event hosted by the Sta. Rita Hills Wine Alliance celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the movie "Sideways"! These events are also part of the Taste of the Santa Ynez Valley weekend! The weekend includes a Sideways Movie Screening with Q&A panel; Sideways Shuttle Tour, and Sideways Wine Festival!       The Sideways Fest ends with a bang on Sunday, October 20th with our inaugural Sideways Wine Fest at River View Park in Buellton!

      The Sideways Wine Festival will take place from 12 - 4 p.m. and feature over 40 Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Barbara County wineries on site for you to sample from! Enjoy tastes from local breweries as well.

      The Sta. Rita Hills American Viticulture Appellation is located on California’s Central Coast in Santa Barbara County. Sideways Movie Screening and Q&A Panel - Friday, October 18th 
(Solvang Festival Theatre, 420 2nd Street, Solvang)

Kick off the Sideways Fest 15 year anniversary celebration weekend with a special "Sideways" Movie Experience under the stars at the  Solvang Festival Theater.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for wine tasting hosted by wineries featured in the movie, Hitching Post Wines, Fiddlehead Cellars, and Margerum Wines to name a few.

Before you head into the event, take a photo in The Sideways Saab that will be parked out front.

Prior to the screening there will be a panel discussion with Sideways personalities reminiscing on the making of movie and their time in the Valley. Hitching Post II Restaurant & Winery owner Frank Ostini, Fiddlehead Cellars owner Kathy Joseph and author Rex Pickett will make up part of the panel along with a few surprise guests.

After the movie return to the outdoor gardens for a few more sips of wine to cap off your evening.

General Admission tickets are $75

VIP Tickets are $100 and include special premium seating during the Sideways Q&A Panel and Sideways movie screening. These are the best seats in the house! You will also receive a goodie bag to enjoy during the movie. Limited seating. SOLD OUT 

Gates open at 6 p.m • Wine tasting begins at 6 p.m. • Q&A Panel will begin at 7:15 p.m. • The Sideways movie screening will begin at 8 p.m.

Sideways Shuttle Tour - Saturday, October 19th - SOLD OUT!!! 
(The Sideways Shuttle Tour will begin and end at the Sideways Inn, 114 E. Highway 246, Buellton)

$60 per person • SOLD OUT! 

The Sideways Shuttle Tour will begin and end at the Sideways Inn (114 E. Highway 246 Buellton).

Guests will hop on our Shuttle and experience the Sideways Tour first hand!

Tickets are $60 and include (1) seat on the shuttle, wine tastings from Fiddlehead, Sanford, and the Hitching Post Winery, and an Aebleskiver tasting from Solvang Restaurant.

We have special stops that include:
Sideways Inn 
Guests will get to see the room that Jack and Miles stayed in. Enjoy a taste of Fiddlestix Sauvignon Blanc to start your day.

Peake Ranch  
Visit the old Sanford Tasting Room, the location of Jack’s first visit. Enjoy a taste Sanford Pinot Noir while enjoying the views of the Sta. Rita Hills vineyards and country side.

This is where Miles expounded to Jack on how to taste wine, ending the scene with “Are you chewing gum?”

Hitching Post II
Jump on the Bus and cruise by AJ Spurs where Jack charmed his very willing waitress, on your way to the Hitching Post II Restaurant to meet up with owner and Highliner winemaker Frank Ostini.

Enjoy Maya’s favorite Highliner Pinot Noir, get some great photo opts of the Ostrich Farm, the Sideways table, the Hitching Post bar and with The Sideways Saab.

Solvang Restaurant 
Head for Solvang where you will be treated to an aebleskiver tasting at The Solvang Restaurant where Jack and Miles had breakfast.

Then enjoy some time in Solvang on a self-guided tour or get tickets to Solvang’s annual Grape Stomp. https://www.solvangusa.com/wine-country/solvang-grape-stomp/ to do a little stomping of your own.

At 5 p.m., jump back on the Shuttle to return to The Sideways Inn to end your day!

Complimentary wine tasting and Aebleskiver tasting is included with this tour!

The Sideways Shuttle Tour will begin and end at the Sideways Inn (114 E. Highway 246 Buellton). You are welcome to find your own way home should you decide to extend your visit in Solvang. The shuttle bus will leave promptly at 5 p.m. to head back to Sideways Inn in Buellton.
