Students who enroll in first level of Hop College (Beer 101) will enjoy a tour of the Great Lakes production facility for a behind the scenes look at our brewery, history, and philosophy. After the tour, we’ll head back to the “classroom” where Cicerone certified GLBC teachers will help you tap into a deeper understanding of craft beer with a guided tasting of our seven core beers (and one or two surprises), plus a lesson on sensory analysis, style history and guidelines, the brewing process, and more during this crash course on all things suds. There won’t be any textbooks, but we will have plenty of beer samples and small bites from the brewpub to help enhance your learning.
Students who complete Beer 101 will leave with a special Hop College branded nonic pint (don’t know what that is? See you at the class!) and official beer nerd bragging rights. All students enrolled can enjoy 10% off a brewpub food order or gift shop purchase (valid for day of class only).
Graduate at the bottom of your glass at Hop College, where our taproom is your classroom!

About
Two Irish brothers with limited brewing experience. A city that shuttered its last production brewery in the early 80s. A neighborhood in serious need of a facelift. In 1986 when Patrick and Daniel Conway opened their fledgling operation in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, the odds were stacked against them. Fortunately, they surrounded themselves with a staff of passionate, knowledgeable people, and from the start committed themselves to bringing a sophisticated, diverse selection of craft beer to their home state. Two decades, multiple awards, and a whole lot of stories later, Pat and Dan Conway celebrate over two decades of brewing exceptional beer for their adventurous and discerning customers.
