Hearts will host its annual Barn Dance fundraising event on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at the Carriage and Western Art Museum in Santa Barbara. There will be a live band, dinner, dancing, and a silent and live auction.

Proceeds from this event will directly benefit our program so that low-income children and adults with all kinds of disabilities can participate. Therapeutic riding significantly improves the capabilities, self-esteem and overall health of individuals who have special needs due to injury, illness, or disability. Proceeds will also go towards supporting our veterans program, Equine Services for Heroes, as well as our at-risk youth program where we partner with Girls Inc. of Santa Barbara and CALM (Child Abuse Listening Mediation).

At Hearts, we believe that all people must be given opportunities to reach their full potential, become as independent as possible, and be supported by an informed, sensitive, and respectful community.

We hope you can join us!

About

Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center employs the power of the horse to enhance the capabilities of children and adults with special needs in Santa Barbara County. Hearts offers life-changing experiences to people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities. Since opening in 1985, approximately 60,000 lesson hours to over 2,000 members of our community have benefited from therapeutic riding. Today we have 17 horses and serve 95 riders per week. Lessons are individually designed to meet each rider’s particular need and ability and are consistent with predetermined goals that are established in partnership with parents, caregivers, physicians and other therapists. Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center is recognized by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) as a “premier center” — the highest possible level of accreditation, demonstrating a superior level of adherence to national industry standards.
