Damon “Dam-Funk” Riddick is the epitome of funk. Ever since debuting with Stones Throw in 2008, Dam-Funk has become one of the genres most passionate proselytizers, out to save it from devilish depictions of cartoonish caricature. To Dam, funk is a way of living, “a feeling of struggle and staying cool through it all.”"

- Oliver Wang (excerpt from bio to 'Invite The Light' album - 2015)

A lot of folks feel like they know DaM-FunK. He is affable and personable at gigs and online but to truly 'get' the guy - I mean really understand him - is to know a love of music like no other. If you're at all familiar with his sets - from Singapore to San Francisco, Moscow to Montreal - then you'd know he is one of the more generous DJ's touring today. Graciously sharing sounds and songs both rare and unique on the mic to packed clubs. If they aren't falling in love on the dance floor, they're by the bar scrambling to figure out what record he's playing. For a near daily reference, checking Dam's social-media feed is like stealing a glance through your favorite DJ's record bag while he's out for quick smoke. He makes a lifetime of digging and absorbing music feel as laid-back as the Santa Ana breeze.

As a writer/producer Damon's credits run the expanse of genres. A perceptive remixer, his signature "Re-Freaks" have given new gleam to an impressive array of artists. Just some being: Disclosure, Animal Collective, Little Dragon, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Toro Y Moi, and more. His own vivid studio-visions have actualized stellar full-length albums with the likes of Snoop Dogg ('7 Days of Funk') and iconic Soul/Funk singer Steve Arrington of Slave ("Higher").

Dam is also known as a world renown performer, having consistently toured the globe since 2008. He's played numerous festivals, including Coachella, Movement, Glastonbury, Primavera, Pitchfork, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch!, Moog Fest, FYF, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Electric Forest, Taico Club (Japan), and many more.

The forbearer of the 'Modern-Funk' movement - Dam's decade-strong Los Angeles based club-night 'Funkmosphere' has proven one of the city's most beloved weekly events.
