Chef Naoki partners with Banjo Foods, based in Mishima, on the Izu Peninsula of Shizuoka, for an authentic 5-course Japanese dinner featuring Mazuma wasabi. Shun Kurihara, a wasabi expert, will be on-hand to share the history, flavor profile, growing methods and even how to traditionally grate the ancient root on shark skin. Cost is $60 per person, plus tax (gratuity not included) and includes traditional sake pairings plus, a jar of fresh wasabi to enjoy at home.
An upgraded sake pairing is available for an additional $30 per person, plus tax (gratuity not included).
