Headliners

MC Chris is a cartoon making rapper that helped start Adult Swim as an animator, writer, voice actor, song writer and on air producer. He's been touring the country for 8 years and making albums for 12. From the suburbs of Chicago he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and was a graduate of dramatic writing at Tisch at NYU. He studied with the Upright Citizens Brigade and worked on Michael Moore's The Awful Truth before being discovered by Adult Swim one year before its launch.

You might know him from Aqua Teen Hunger Force as MC Pee Pants or young Carl. He also was animator for the show and composed four songs, one of which, "I Want Candy" was featured in both the show and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie. He also was in the ATHF video game. mc chris starred in Sealab 2021 as Hesh and various other characters. And there he was also a writer and head animator.

He starred in The Brak Show where he was animator, sound editor and book keeper. He penned two episodes one of which was a rap musical starring Cee-Lo Green.

Besides being an on-air producer producing the first spots for Family Guy, Futurama and Robot Chicken, mc starred in over 50 cartoons for AS as well as four different pilots, Welcome to Eltingville, Cheyenne Cinnamon, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell and Tight Bros.

Lately he's been doing a lot of work with Kevin Smith. You might have heard his song, "fett's vette" in "Zak and Miri Make a Porno," or one of his many Smodcast themes, including the intro to "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old" which is featured on the DVD and Netflix. Most recently he composed two songs for "Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie," including the Bluntman and Chronic theme song and the closing credits song, "Fuck a Critic in the Mouth." His song "hoodie ninja" was featured in a national Honda commercial as well as America's Funniest Home Videos.

Now mc is working on his own cartoon with Titmouse Productions (Venture Brothers, Metalocalypse) and after kickstartering $65K in 2011 for a six minute pitch he's now going to raise an additional amount to finish the first episode.

His fanbase of over 200,000 loyal die hard followers is always eager to consume his latest offering, which includes a sequel to his popular children's album, "Marshmellow Playground" and his 8th full length album, "mc chris foreverrr." His style of music has spawned the genre of music known as "nerdcore." He's collaborated with Andrew WK, Talib Kweli, Childish Gambino and Kitty Pryde.

He will be on a nationwide tour this summer.

Northern California rapper, MC Lars, is set to release his 4th full-length studio album, the Zombie Dinosaur LP, at the end of this coming summer. He has returned home to the Bay Area after living in Los Angeles these past three years, and is self-producing his new album with help from friends in Berkeley and San Francisco.

The Zombie Dinosaur LP revisits the satirical, funny, uptempo style of Lars' 2004 debut album, the Laptop EP. It features guest appearances by Watsky, Kool Keith, and Less than Jake's Roger Lima. Zombie Dinosaur tackles such topics as postfeminism, in a nod to Game of Thrones ("Dragon Blood"); disappointing reunion bands with very few of their original members ("Sublime with Rome is Not the Same thing as Sublime"); hipster parenting ("Hipster Mom"); and the current state of EDM ("Signing Dubstep").

The project was funded entirely by Lars's third highly successful Kickstarter campaign, through which he raised over $42k to create and release Zombie Dinosaur under his own label, Horris Records.

In the ten years that have followed his debut release, the Laptop EP, Lars has independently produced and released three other solo full-length albums, four EPs, and a number of mixtapes.

He has collaborated with KRS-One, mentored and helped develop the career of fellow Stanford alum K.Flay (with whom he collaborated on the 2009 Single and Famous EP), opened for Nas and Snoop Dogg, and played multiple summers on the Vans Warped Tour. He has also headlined club shows across the US and in Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.

Lars has spoken and presented at two different TEDx conferences, performed at Carnegie Hall with a live string section (at Scholastic's 2012 Art and Writing Awards – where he debuted the video for his song, "Flow Like Poe," which is the lead single on his 2012 Edgar Allan Poe EP).

Lars has developed and grown Horris Records in this past decade, signing the label's first artist, Weerd Science (the solo hip-hop project of Cohered & Cambria's drummer, Josh Eppard). Lars has continued to produce music videos for himself and his friends, including a cameo credit on past musical collaborator "Weird Al" Yankovic's 2014 "Lame Claim to Fame" (for which Lars was given a special shout out in the liner notes to Al's Grammy Award winning album, Mandatory Fun).

Having been labeled as one of the pioneers of the underground "nerdcore hip-hop" subgenre, Lars has recently expanded from the studio to the classroom. With visiting scholar/teacher residencies at USC, and in the UK, and across the US in Nantucket, Florida, California, Alaska, and Kansas, Lars has found joy in educating young people about "lit-hop," a subject term he coined to highlight the connections between literature, classical poetry, and the cultural history of rap.

Lars has continued to work closely with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, teaching workshops on preventing self-harm, and positive ways to use music as creative therapy for depression. He has also worked with the American Heart Association, promoting youth heart health.

It's been quite a decade.

Random, aka Mega Ran, Big Ran or Random Beats. Teacher, Rapper, Hero.

Random, aka Mega Ran. Teacher, Rapper, Hero. A 14-year music veteran, middle school teacher and videogame aficionado, Random's songs are filled with all of the heartache, pain, triumph, tragedy and fun that come with everyday living. A Philadelphia native and Phoenix transplant, graduate of Penn State University and former middle school instructor, Random speaks to the everyman, transcending race or class barriers."I never want anyone to predict my next move," he says. You can, however, expect the unexpected from Random, hence the name.

Random made waves by going way left of his backpack roots when he released "Mega Ran" in 2007. It was an album completely comprised of sampled 8-bit beats from the hit video game series "Mega Man." The album (and its follow up, Mega Ran 9) virtually exploded after video game corporation CAPCOM offered Random a special licensing agreement, and calling on Ran to perform at Comic-Con and other special events.

Random's unique combination of fantasy and true to life music has garnered him respect and admiration from the genre's toughest critics; Not many independent artists can boast having music utilized in television (TNA Wrestling, Portlandia), videogames (Rock Band, among others), movies, and university courses in several colleges in the US (Temple, Virginia Tech, Miami among others). Now that's Random.

Random's critically acclaimed projects as Mega Ran include FOREVER FAMICOM, a tribute to NES classics, and BLACK MATERIA, an album based on the music of hit Final Fantasy VII. Ran continues to reach new heights after video game corporation CAPCOM offered Random an exclusive licensing agreement, leading to movie, TV and game soundtrack placements and tours of the US, UK and Japan and more. Catch Ran on the front of leading hip-hop and gaming publications and sites, or at a show near you.

Today, Random is no longer a teacher by title, but still travels the world to entertain and educate through the gift of music. From the clubs and lounges to the packed comic and gaming conventions all over, Random's music has managed game and movie soundtrack placements and press coverage in Playstation Magazine, Wired Magazine, The Phoenix New Times, URB Magazine, Game Developer, Nintendo Power, and more.
