Cycles is an exciting and relatively new trio based out of Denver. The group features Michael Wood on drums, Patrick Harvey on guitar, and Tucker McClung on Bass and lead vocals. Drawing influence from artists such as Phish, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Primus, J Dilla, Grant Greene, Pink Floyd, and Herbie Hancock; Cycles tastefully blends a variety styles ranging from rock to jazz to hip hop to funk, soul, blues, and many more. With an emphasis on improvisation, chops, and risk-taking with a touch of humor, the group creates an electric, irresistible groove that brings a top-notch live performance. Cycles' debut performance took place only on May 16thof2015 at The Colorado Room in Fort Collins. After drawing a sizeable crowd to the bar and putting on a fun show for staff and patrons alike, the venue quickly jumped to the chance to book the group for a two night run in October. Since then, Cycles have steadily been filling rooms such as Hodi's Half Note in Fort Collins, Owsley's Golden Road in Boulder, and the Armoury in Denver. Across the Front Range, the group has a large network of friends and supports from high school, college, and the live music scene in Colorado. Cycles has seen a steady increase in show attendance and buzz across a variety of outlets since their conception earlier this year. While Cycles is a relatively new project, each member has a strong resumé of musical experience. Tucker, hailing from Austin, has played in many different groups in the vibrant city's scene. Most notably, he performed with Funkatron, who won the Waka Winter Classic three years in a row sending them to Wakarusa Music Festival three years straight. Tucker has also toured with his band the Hairfarmers, which he fronted and provided most of the original material for. Out of Chicago, Pat has built a strong reputation playing with Low Spark, a jazz-fusion band with years of gigging experience in Chicago and across the nation. Pat was also a fixture at many weekly open jams around notable venues in Chicago. Michael Wood has played in various groups across the Front Range. His sophomore year in college, he toured nationally with the Young Russians who played shows in California, including the famed Whiskey A-Go-Go. The Young Russian's EP was featuring on the Radio, LA, New York, London, and locally in Fort Collins. Michael has also toured with other notable groups such as Cold River City out of Boulder and Rocky Mountain Funk out of Denver. Make sure to catch Cycles at a venue near you!
