The Aditya Prakash Ensemble, founded by lead vocalist, Aditya Prakash in 2010, is a collaboration which breaks down walls between the cultures of jazz and Indian classical music. Through the common language of improvisation, as well as original compositions that are inspired from Indian Ragas and complex rhythms, and Jazz’s rich harmonic structure with the influence of hip hop and funk, the group seeks to capture timeless messages of enlightened mystics and poets through their original lyrics which are arranged and composed in a unique musical soundscape. This collaboration seeks to move beyond the intermingling of styles and tradition, into a space of inner intuition and expression. Aditya Prakash is an award-winning Indian classical vocalist who has had the rare privilege of performing and touring with Pandit Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shankar, Karsh Kale and Salim Merchant. Aditya received his BA from UCLA in Ethnomusicology with a focus on performance/composition.
